Bendel fabricated three (3) vertical tanks that are being used in the nutrient removal processing facility.
One of the facility’s primary innovative goals was to conserve water. In order to feed the supplemental carbon chemicla into the activated wastewater stream, the process needed a constant supply of water to dilute the methanol. In order to conserve water, the decision was made to use reclaimed water from the advanced treatment plant effluent.
The end result was a fantastic facility with a safe, dynamic design, the highest quality construction and innovative use of materials, and with the most advanced technology used in the building’s infrastructure. The facility is also accessible for operations and maintenance staff who may have disabilities.
The award was presented to the general contractor for the facility project, American Contracting & Environmental Services.
The 2010 American Public Works Association, Virginia/DC/Maryland Chapter, presented American Contracting & Environmental Services with the “Project of the Year – Environmental Category”.
Bendel was proud to have the opportunity to work with American Contracting & Environmental Services on the project with the fabrication of the three vertical tanks!
